Obituary for Betty Rozzi

Betty Rozzi
Betty Rozzi, 90, of New Castle, passed away the morning of October 5, 2017 at her daughter’s residence. Born on January 22, 1927 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bettina Gaspare Stefano. On April 19, 1947, she married her beloved husband, Samuel P. Rozzi, and the two of them spent 48 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on December 20, 1995.

Betty was a member of St. Vitus Church. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. Betty will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished cooking and baking for Sunday dinners and being surrounded by her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children, Cheryl Kimmel and husband Tracy, Gloria Stumpf, Luann Haybarger and husband Richard, and Patrice Knapp and husband Gary, all of New Castle; grandchildren, Jamal Soubra, Jenna Mozzocio, Cortny Germanski, Matthew Kimmel, Richard Haybarger, Eric Haybarger, Tara Knapp, and Tiffany Knapp; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde, Michael, Tullio, Arthur, and Victor Stefano; sister, Frances Doerr; and son-in-law, James Stumpf.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Monday at 10:00am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Father Frank Almade.

Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
