Obituary for James (Jimmy) Biangone

James (Jimmy) Biangone
James (Jimmy) Biangone, 92, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of May 11, 2017 at his residence. Born on August 28, 1924 in Hillsville, PA, he was the son of the late Louis and Flora Creaturo Biangone. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 70 years, the former Evelyn DeLillo, whom he married on November 21, 1946.

Jimmy retired as a machine operator for Carbon Limestone after 42 years of working. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II in the African and European Theaters for which he received a Purple Heart. A devout member of St. Vitus Church, Jimmy belonged to its Holy Name Society and was named both Man of the Year and Father of the Year. He swam at the YMCA every morning and was an avid fan of the Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. Jimmy was a longtime blood donor for the American Red Cross and U.S. National Guard; he had donated over 20 gallons of his rare blood type which mainly was used to help premature babies and leukemia patients. He was a huge car fanatic and was known as the family fixer and handyman who could fix most anything.

In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by his children, Erma Sindlinger and husband Dan and Carol Pagley and husband Rick, all of New Castle; brothers, Domenick Biangone of Hilton Head, SC, Frank Biangone of Struthers, OH, Joseph Biangone of Montana, and Anthony Biangone of New Castle; sisters, Jean Rucci of Struthers, OH and Georgina Cucitrone of New Castle; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Biangone, and sister, Lucy DiCarlo.

Honoring his wishes, there are no calling hours planned. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Saturday at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Father Joseph Codori.

Entombment will take place in Resurrection Mausoleum. Military rites will be conducted by the New Castle Area Guard Honor.
